When you join twitter you see other people writing message usually called updating their status that what they are doing now and then place their link below the text.when some one from their follower or some one else saw their tweet(message)if it looks interested to him/her. He/she clicks the link and thus traffic driven to the site.

Good post but be careful using Adsense with manual traffic exchanges. It is against the rules and you could end up being banned. Also check out http://affiliateprogramsonly.blogspot.com for some good money making ideas.
